Profitable business model for an open source, freeware

The purpose of this work has been to understand how to finance a General Public License (GPL) software for a non-mass market product. The solution is licensed under GPL and is given out for free. A survey has been done to form a base for the business case and prove if profitability is at all possible. The results indicates a possibility to generate a sustainable business model for the software. In this work also some actions are recommended to be taken.
